Dr Anne Quain

Veterinarian

Dr Anne Quain BSc(Vet) BVSc MVS MANZCVS (Animal Welfare) DipECAWBM (AWSEL) is a veterinarian with additional qualifications in the field of animal welfare.

Anne is interested in all aspects of small animal health, particularly animal welfare. She loves treating dogs and cats as well as the more unusual pets – from backyard chickens to reptiles to guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and mice. Her AQIS certification enables her to prepare and certify animals for overseas travel. In addition to her routine veterinary work, Anne lectures at The University of Sydney and regularly contributes to News Local, the Veterinarian magazine, and iCatCare and the journal of the International Society for Feline Medicine. She is the co-author of Veterinary Ethics: Navigating Tough Cases, along with Dr Siobhan Mullan.

Anne is on the NSW Executive Committee of the Australian Veterinary Association. In her spare time she volunteers with Pets in the Park, Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities (AMRRIC) and other organisations that promote animal welfare. She enjoys taking photos of animals, and Anne currently shares her home with two guinea pigs, two cats (one of whom is three legged), three budgies and a dog.
